Two of Shakespeare’s best-loved and most enchanting comedies – Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night – come together in an innovative new production from macrobert’s Young Company.

Illyria is a luxury hotel where staff and guests will all discover that true love isn’t alway easy.

Don Pedro and his soldiers have returned from war and their arrival is set to cause chaos. While Benedick and Beatrice indulge in a “merry war” which hides their true feelings for each other, a darker, more dangerous battle of the sexes is about to explode and shatter everyone’s lives.

Meanwhile, Viola, a shipwrecked orphan, arrives in Illyria mourning the loss of her twin brother. Disguising herself as a boy, she brings love and life back to a community stifled by its own desires but confusion and misunderstandings are never far away.

These two stories interweave in a stylish contemporary production filled with love, laughter – and a pair of yellow stockings!

Febfest Rehearsals

The works of William Shakespeare are providing a great source of inspiration for this year’s FebFest, macrobert’s annual festival of work by our in house youth groups. 8 of our drama and dance groups are hard at work creating performances for February, including full productions of 2 of Shakespeare’s plays and a number of new pieces inspired by Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Tempest and even Titus Andronicus! We’re even going to have a late night cabaret with songs from the Bard on Broadway!
Following their very popular and acclaimed production of Coram Boy last
