Charlie and Lola come to life at macrobert…

Everyone’s favourite brother and sister Charlie and Lola will be visiting macrobert on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 April with Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play

The stars of the hit BBC TV series and books by Lauren Child are brought to life by a magical mix of puppets, live action and music where the 2-D and 3-D worlds mingle as we find out if Lola will ever tidy her room or if Charlie will get Lola to sleep, even though she is not sleepy and will not go to bed. The Tigers want their bedtime milk, the Dancing Dogs have borrowed Lola’s pyjamas – not to mention the Ogre in the wardrobe! Who’d have known there were so many problems to overcome?

An absolutely fantastic show which is guaranteed to put a grin on the whole family’s face. You don’t have to take our word for it however, this is what other parents have to say:

“I was rather worried that the kids might be disappointed as they know the TV series really well but it was just like it, only more magical, they loved it….”. P Bacon, Otley

“We certainly enjoyed the show as it really brought alive the magic of the books and characters my older daughter loves so much.” Sara Knowles, Buxton

“We had a great time. This is the first time I have seen Jake [aged four and a half]rapt in the theatre (and laughing his head off). And so was I, it was a lovely piece of work, and the puppets worked so well for that story.” Steve D, Oxford

The press also highly recommend Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play:

“Absolutely ever so well done to everyone connected with Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play for caring enough to get it spot on, and in such blissfully accurate detail…. this show is magic from start to finish.” The Herald

“Utterly charming, and engaging for even the fidgetiest of toddlers.” The List

“I thoroughly enjoyed the creative yet faithful translation of the books for the stage. More importantly, so did my three year old. 4 stars.” Time Out

It’s the start of the Easter holidays so what better excuse is there… get along, get involved and meet the kid’s bestest friends Charlie and Lola!
